Colgate Partners with the Department of Education and Caloocan City, Launches the Philippine Anti-Cavity Campaign

Colgate, the number one toothpaste brand* and oral health partner of Filipinos, officially announces the start of its Philippine Anti-Cavity Campaign (PACC) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Local Government Units. This year-long initiative is one of the biggest grassroots programs of Colgate to date as it aims for better oral health in the Philippines and strives to provide Filipino families across the country more reasons to smile.

Through the PACC, Colgate and the Department of Education are targeting to touch the lives of public school students throughout the year. The program includes on-ground activities, namely oral health education, tooth brushing drills, free dental check-ups and fluoride application. About 300 children from Caloocan City are participating in the launch event. In attendance to show their support are local government officials from the host city, led by Mayor Oscar Malapitan, and representatives from the Department of Education, headed by Rizalino Rosales, Director of Bureau of Learner Services, School Health Division.

With the help of its valued partners, Colgate is set to bring the PACC to day care centers and public schools across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. In addition, Colgate toothpastes and toothbrushes will be provided to the beneficiaries on-site.

Colgate will also be conducting a follow-up checkup for the beneficiaries of the PACC within the year, cementing Colgate’s commitment to keep the Philippines smiling.

“Our goal is to ‘Keep the Philippines Smiling’ by driving awareness of the importance of oral health among Filipinos. Through the Philippine Anti-Cavity Campaign, in partnership with the Department of Education and Local Government Units, we hope to improve the oral health of Filipinos nationwide and give them a future that they can smile about,” expounded Arvind Sachdev, General Manager of Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, Inc.
