As the 2017, was gone and now as we are looking forward for 2018, with extraordinary hope and expectation. IA James Infiesto NCFP coordinator for Mindanao and IA Wilfredo Neri NCFP coordinator for Visayas.
And, I believe, whatever milestones, accolades and praises that the present leadership receives, I know they will not stop with their mission that our country should be back in the World's chess Map and Filipinos will be known as one of the best and talented players in the world. And this, could only happen if we come and act together, and if we presuppose the talents of young Filipinos --- our Filipino race is remarkable, indeed. then Lets have faith on them- HELP.
The Philippine Sports Commission funding's and the programs of National Chess Federation of the Philippines and other well-meaning people, individuals and corporations will not be enough. it is not sufficient. wherefore, all of us, it is incumbent upon us to give our share.
1. talented players should do his/her best by training diligently and wholeheartedly without any incredulity nor incertitude. Devoting exceptionally of his/her time as if dedicating one's life to Caissa. Lastly, A highest form of discipline must be adopted.
2. Coaches/ Trainers must be competent and knowledgeable with great urgency and mission not only for monetary consideration or compensation but with advocacy to banner and spirited in representing our Flag.
a coach who will be trusted and respected by the players so that they can work and train together efficiently and effectively towards an end goal- to become a winner and a World Champion!
3. Sponsors, supporters, philanthropies and altruists should help finance our players and programs. they should give their support not sparingly but generously with cheerful heart without expecting any return because they are happy for what they are doing, delighted to see that they could help our country as well as helping the dream come true regarding the aspiration of young Filipinos. surely, I say, as the rising of the sun, they will be greatly rewarded not only in this life but the next life and beyond.
we all knew that several millions of funding is necessary and needed to sustain the training and tournaments of would be Grand Master particularly, the one who have ambition and desire to become world champion. this is the reason, we should scrutinize and evaluate how many or which one should be given the financial assistance. there must be a procedure, who deserves the support.
Therefore, may I suggest it should be based on the following criteria: performance, discipline, attitude and training as not to waste the time and money.
4. Perfect Programs, we, who are players, officials and lovers of chess should guide, direct and motivate young talented players to ensure the chess activities they are getting into especially their training andtournaments that they are joining, are for their development, playing an events must have a purpose-- to grow and learn, for the next level. they should aim of rapid improvement, the younger the better. I have seen in the past years so many talented players who never improves their skills or too slow in their growth.
The fact, they are Champions when they were 7, 8, 9, 10 to 14 years old. during those years they keep on winning championship after championship yet after 5-6 years some remain non- titled players others with title, howbeit, they did not achieve their Grand master title for the reason of wrong priorities where financial gains weigh immensely, their coaching and training was defective and inadequate, they have learned so many erroneous chess principles and lack of courage to play in a strong competitions.
